Introducing Terumiu
The thinking behind our theme — "Know yourself, one assessment at a time" — and what we'll be sharing here on the Journal.
Hello, and welcome. We're Terumiu, a product studio.
We've just started Terumiu. We build web services and products, and our first one — Grader — carries the theme "Know yourself, one assessment at a time." In this first post, we'd like to share a little about what we believe and what we hope to bring you.
Why "know yourself"?
In a world overflowing with information, the thing closest to us is often the hardest to see clearly: ourselves.
What are you good at? What moves you? When do you do your best work, and which choices feel right? We think we know — yet the moment we try to put it into words, it slips away.
Knowing yourself isn't about comparing with others. It's a quiet practice of tracing your own outline, gently.
That's why Terumiu wants to offer that chance to "check in" as lightly as possible — something you'd casually want to try, with no pressure.
Three things we hold onto
As we build, there are principles we never want to lose sight of.
- Honest data design — show results with grounds, never overstating
- Gentle products — intuitive to use, no expertise required
- Always sharing — we don't stop at shipping; we open up what we learn
More than flashy gimmicks, we aim for a quiet feel: something you want to try on a whim, that leaves you a little more forward-looking afterward.
About Grader
Grader, operated by Terumiu, is an open assessment platform for personality, skills, and interests. Pick an assessment, answer a few questions, and receive a visualized result with an explanation.
You can read more on the service page.
What we'll share on the Journal
This Journal is where Terumiu speaks up. Here's the kind of thing you can expect:
- New assessment announcements and the thinking behind them
- Behind-the-scenes notes and records of how we improve
- Perspectives and tips that help you understand yourself
We hope it becomes a small spark for facing yourself. Thanks for being here — we're glad you've come.
